Franklin O. "Bud’ Watford,72 of Lamar, died Sunday morning, February 7, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 Tuesday, February 9th, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, LAMAR, with burial following in Lamar Cemetery .
Mr Watford was born in Darlington county the son of the late Loran and Doris Freeman Watford. He served in the National Guard and had retired from Sonoco Paper Products. After his retirement he enjoyed working part time at Carolina Hardware in Darlington. Bud liked to hunt, do carpentry work and was a loyal Lamar Silver Fox fan. He attended Will of Faith Southern Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Tyner Watford of Lamar, a daughter, Robin (Jerry) Windham of Lamar, grandchildren, Tori (Austin) Taylor of Florence, Rock (Stephanie) Parnell, step-grandchildren, Andy (Jessi) Windham, Tracey (Sammy) Varner all of Lamar, four great grandchildren, Wyatt and Kylar Parnell, Tyner Taylor, Joshua Windham, six sisters: Fannie Bell (Billy) Ward, Elmarie (Sonny) Stewart, Peggy (Jim) Smith, Theresa (Frank) Shearon all of Lamar, Gail (Bill) Odom of Darlington and Kay Watford of Lamar.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pansy Ward.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Belk Funeral Home, LAMAR CHAPEL.
